My Mother's Day was perfect for many reasons, one being the flowers Larry didn't give me. Another being the two hour nap I took mid-day. And another being the 10 mile run that followed the two hour nap. Which I ran in 8-minute miles. Which is damn near miraculous as I typically begin to schlep at mile four. For me, 10 eight minute miles is akin to flying elf magic. Am crediting the pasta salad and Cheez-Its I ate for dinner the night before. (More details about my mid-life aversion to meat coming soon. I'm watching that situation develop.)
Gus is finally headed back to school after a week off due to the Great Nashville Flood. And I am off to investigate the Mysterious Case of the HVAC Unit That Smells Like FISH. Specifically, OUR HVAC Unit That Smells Like Fish.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I'm hoping the ducts didn't flood (don't think the water got up that high) and that it's just moisture in the unit from all the rain. (Someone suggested putting cat litter in the air return behind the filter; so I'm going to try that). We've already replaced our hot water heater and still need to repair the fireplace and roof leaks, and I know I shouldn't complain as there are many in FAR worse situations than ours.
So. (Whistling a happy tune).
If this is the funniest thing you read all day, MY APOLOGIES.
But it's Monday. I'm setting the bar low.
